Our Achievements And Impact
- Since the introduction of Time Out, Southampton City Council has experienced a 95% reduction in the number of foster carers leaving its service as a result of discontent or burnout.
- Within the same period, placement stability within foster care services in
Southampton has improved by 29% and SCC has moved from the bottom 8% of local authorities in England in terms of foster care placement stability to the top 20%.
- Based on comparative analysis of GCSE results, Time Out participants have
consistently out-performed other Children Looked After in England in terms of
educational performance over the past three years.
- In Southampton’s last two JAR reviews dreamwall is recognised as significantly contributing to the emotional and social development of young people in care. This was achieved without substantial increases per capita budget for children and families and youth services.
- From 2002 we have worked with 2,500 vulnerable young people.
- Since our inception we have received funding from the Big Lottery, Active England, Sport England, The Lloyds TSB Foundation, The Mercers Company, Unlimited and Albion.
- We provide services to commissioners from Southampton City Council, Hampshire County Council, Portsmouth City Council and a variety of third sector organisations.
- We have established a Junior Leadership Programme, demonstrating our commitment to developing young people. Twenty have now completed this course and have moved from being service users to supporting other young people on residentials. 6 to date have moved on to becoming paid members of the staff team.
