We have the expertise and flexibility to provide a range of services in a safe and stimulating environment;
Social and Emotional Development (SED) programmes
Our SED programmes are a series of residential programmes tailored to meet the needs of a group. We create a nurturing but challenging environment, based on earned respect and clear expectations of behaviour. Typically included are physical challenges, creative workshops, sports and games.
'Self catering' allows us to create a family atmosphere and evaluations indicate that many learned experiences and lifestyle improvements are translated into action on return 'home' or towards independent living. All our residential programmes operate indoors and out.
Activity Programmes
Ranging from 1 hour to a day in duration, during school, after school or during holidays, the focus is always on personal growth and development. Previous themes have included health, fitness, sports, games and cooking, as well as creative and outdoor challenges.
Junior Leadership Programme
Alongside our SED programmes, those young people showing the greatest aptitude, desire and example will be offered a place on the Junior Leadership Programme, where they will receive training and support to become a young volunteer on all services dreamwall runs.
dreamwall has seen 20 of its service users excel in these areas, and in December 2006 2 remarkable Junior Leaders were successful in their application to become part time paid members of staff, supporting new referrals to realise their potential. Since then a further 4 Junior Leaders have reached this level, giving the young people more great role models to aspire to.
It is this investment in the capability of young people that is the clearest demonstration of our ability to meet the five aims of Every Child Matters.
